Shirley Bradford, Painter
After a lifetime drawing in my spare time whilst bringing up a family, working and following many years of travelling with Paul and groups of artists, I keep an illustrated journal and use this as a source of images, along with written notes. From the studio I organise untutored painting holidays at home and abroad for painters, partners and friends - with a number of Art Societies whom I serve.
Paintings are created from source material in my studio, not on site. I endeavour to create rhythm and dynamism through the strength and placing of colour of the finished work.
I have shown works in London, the provinces and in France; have works in many private collections; worked to commission and, recently, an industrial painting was purchased for the Buckinghamshire County Museum.
